1986:
Bad News was one of the bands that performed at the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) charity concert on this day. A spoof heavy metal band created for the British TV series,
The Comic Strip Presents.... its members were four professional comedians, Adrian Edmonson, Nigel Planer, Rik Mayall and Peter Richardson who performed as: Vim Fuego aka Alan Metcalfe (vocals and lead guitar); Den Dennis (rhythm guitar); Colin Grigson (bass); and Spider Webb (drums).
The actors performed their own music and "Bad News" put out several albums, most of which were co-produced by Brian May. Their first album, Bad News, included a cover of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Vim Fuego: I could play "Stairway To Heaven" when I was 12. Jimmy Page didn't actually write it until he was 22. I think that says quite a lot.
