1964:
The band Them was a Northern Irish group formed in 1964 with founding member, Van Morrison. They released a number of songs you've no doubt rocked to over the years, including Gloria and Here Comes the Night.
Jimmy Page..."understands the role of accompanist (to vocalist or instrumentalist) and yet can turn on a tough, biting solo in old style blues or electronic head music with no apparent change of pace." [P.Elwood/Examiner/Nov. 1969]
A double encore at the Winterland Ballroom: Eddie Cochran's C'mon Everybody and Something Else.
1998
The second song of the first of Page & Plant's two encores was Ramble On, which Led Zeppelin had never played live in its entirety.

Last night Jimmy Page stole the show at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony! JP inducted Link Wray via video and got a nice applause from an audience that mostly weren't sure who Link Wray was and that also didn't know JP was standing in the dark on the stage holding his doubleneck.
When Jimmy Page began to play, a guy in the audience "Doubleneck!! Doubleneck!!" The audience came to its feet at the first notes and stood through the whole song.

As they should.
Elton John blew Jimmy a kiss.

Jimmy Page was interviewed by Jeff Koons in New York for 92Y. In the Q&A, JP discussed his official photographic autobiography, the recent re-mastered releases of Led Zeppelin IV and Houses of the Holy. When Koons offered to produce any artwork to go along with Page's anticipated solo tour and album next year, Page enthusiastically shook his hand, closing the deal. I'd like to know what Koons thinks about that deal now.
Jimmy Page helped promote the return of Flaming June by Frederic Leighton (1830-1895) to Britain, gone since the 1960s.

I've got a writing project I'm doing this month. You may have heard of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), a challenge to write 50,000 words of a novel in one month (roughly 150 pages, or half of a publishable book). I've been doing it for a few years now (first attempt was in 2008). I always think I'm too busy to do it each year, but I do. I'll be doing it this year, too, even though I can't start until the 6th because I'm out of town.
Wish me luck! Buy the book when it comes out next spring! It's a sequel, so you might want to read the first book in the series, DARK GREEN. Or maybe an unrelated novel before that, Evolution Device, a story of music and magic inspired partly by the writing I've done here over the years, and partly by the life and career of my favorite guitarist.
