1970:
A little over one year from their first concert, Led Zeppelin not only was the only act on the bill, the band was booked for two shows in a row at Madison Square Garden.  At both shows Robert Plant spoke about the death of Jimi Hendrix on the previous day.

Today many consider the MSG performance to be one of the band's very best. Yet a reviewer back then said, "I found the group flashy but dull, somewhat contrived and certainly  not high energy excitement." Do reviewers ever acknowledge how far off they were in their assessment?

1998:
Most High is from the studio album Walking into Clarksdale, released through Atlantic Records in 1998. By May 1998 it reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. In 1999, the song won a Grammy for Page and Plant for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Most High was released as a single. To me the real winner is the song on the B side, The Window.

Some of them sound like the real thing but none I've come across have any authentication. If you have a link to something we can trust as really real, or a working Soundcloud link, please share!

The final version of In The Light on Physical Graffiti, was a big improvement over the version of Everybody Makes It Through (link below). But that's what practice, multiple takes, editing of lyrics, overlaying tracks, mixing, and engineering are all about.

Jimmy Page's experience as a session man made him ready and able to perform under all kinds of circumstances: using borrowed equipment, dodging firecrackers, playing on a rotating stage or one that was being demolished by fans or while standing on a rising industrial scissors lift. Somehow I doubt he gave much thought to these sorts of things when he first laid hands on a guitar.

Clarksdale is a town in the Mississippi Delta, one of the seats of Delta blues music.Walking into Clarksdale took 35 days to record. The album was recorded and mixed by Steve Albini. Most High was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1999.

Japanese bonus track Whiskey from the Glass - Jimmy Page referred to this as "most atmospheric". I have to agree!

Most High and Shining in the Light were released as singles, with a music video for the former. Most High was also featured as a CD single with the b-sides Upon a Golden Horse and The Window.
